Adshel Town and Park uses aluminium as a major structural component of its furniture due to its excellent strength to weight ratio, natural corrosion resistant properties and 100% recyclability. All castings and extruded sections are manufactured in Australia. Adshel Town and Park is proud to use the Central Foundry for quality castings |

Adshel Town and Park only uses select grade hardwood meaning we will not supply timber with cracks, knots, splits or defects. We use a 30mm deep plank for excellent structural strength which when combined with robust castings means our furniture spans 2000mm rather than the industry norm of 1800mm. This additional span provides seating for an additional person on a standard length unit.
Town and Park is committed to supporting responsible forestry practices and only sources select grade hardwood from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified forests or Ecotimber from ecoforestry programs, ensuring that forests and plantations are managed to sustain their biodiversity, productivity, ecological and sociological integrity. Adshel Town and Park is proud to partner with The Woodage in bringing our clients the best in quality and responsible timber |

Adshel Town and Park only uses high quality fasteners in the assembly of all their products including stainless steel grade 316 rods and fixings and specialised structural aluminium rivets. |

Unpainted or clear anodised aluminium finishes require little maintenance. Water blasting or washing down of the metalwork is necessary for aesthetic and hygienic reasons in removing accumulated food deposits and bird droppings that are to be expected in most pedestrian areas. More frequent cleaning schedules are recommended in coastal environments to prevent salt build-up. Cleaning of anodised planking should be carried out with clean water free from chemical additives. Powder coat and two-pack polyurethane enamels require maintenance be done on a regular basis to preserve the integrity of the finish. Dirt, grime and airborne salt deposits are capable of causing damage to the coated surface and must be regularly removed. It is recommended that cleaning be done every three months, with six months being considered the maximum interval. Particular attention again should be paid to the cleaning interval in marine or other corrosive environments. Cleaning should be carried out using a soft non-abrasive bristle brush with a warm solution of mild detergent. Where it is necessary to remove materials such as adhesives, solvents recommended are methylated spirits, white spirits or Isopropanol. After cleaning ensure surfaces are thoroughly rinsed. The use of bore water for cleaning is not recommended due to its mineral content which can bring about staining of the coating and may instigate long term coating failure. |

Initial coatings of oil stain fade relatively quickly due to the denseness and closed surface character of new kiln-dried hardwood. Depending on the level of exposure re: sun and rain, a further coating will probably be required within four to six months. Subsequent oil stain applications however will be progressively more effective on the exposed surface of the timber planks as more oil will be absorbed. Planking should be lightly sanded prior to re-oiling. In time re-staining could be undertaken at one to two year intervals, however the question of accumulating food stains and bird droppings is likely to encourage more regular re-oiling in intensive use situations. Given regular re-oiling and maintenance, an 'as new' appearance can be maintained indefinitely. Oil staining insitu needs to be done carefully but is a relatively quick and easy process. It is important to be sure that paving is protected, as the stain will penetrate masonry surfaces. It is also necessary to wipe clean any stain runs or splashes from the metal framework of the furniture. Untreated and unmaintained hardwood timbers will weather in time to a silver grey appearance. In the event of timber being allowed to weather and dry out excessively over a period of many years, screw fixings could loosen and require re-tightening, but this in unlikely to occur when oil-staining procedures are maintained. Acrylic and two-pack polyurethane enamel coated timber can be cleaned with a soft non-abrasive bristle brush using a warm solution of mild detergent cleanser. Stubborn areas may require multiple applications or the use of a lightly abrasive cleaner. |
